I'd say more

Se, como diz Eco, a Tradução é a língua da Europa — bem, let's try it, oui?

A partir de hoje, uma nova rubrica neste blogue. Chama-se I'd say more. Ou não bem uma rubrica, mais uma ferramenta. Uma espécie de O-que-eu-gosto-de-bombas-de-gasolina-translator.

Alguns postais (sempre que possível) serão mudados para Tradução.

I'd say more é uma pequena homenagem aos gémeos Dupond e Dupont, dos livros do Tintim, de Hergé. Parece que, nas edições inglesas, a famosa frase da dupla de chapéu de coco é "to be precise". Mas aqui — servindo de aviso para as traduções rápidas que aparecerão neste blogue — vou usar uma versão mais literal, a partir da edição portuguesa. I'd say more.

If Translation is the language of Europe, as Eco claims — well, let's try it, oui?

This blog has a new label, starting today. It's called I'd say more. Or not really a label, more like a tool. A sort of O-que-eu-gosto-de-bombas-de-gasolina-translator.

Some posts (whenever possible) will be changed into Translation.

I'd say more is a little homage to the Thomson and Thompson twins, from Tintin's books, by Hergé. Apparently, in the English editions, the famous line by the bowler hats duet is "to be precise". But here — as a warning to the rough translations coming up in this blog — I'll be using a more literal version, taken from the Portuguese edition. I'd say more.
